As most American "gentiles" [non jews] I grew up with a positive view of Israel. I was never informed that the formation of the state of Israel depended on the suppression of another people, i.e., the Palestinians. I also have to admit I did not study any of the issues and just accepted what I read in various publications. I think the average American does not realize that an entire country was stolen and their population displaced by Jews. Americans need more enlightenment about the history of the whole "conflict". The injustice done to and the suffering of Palestinians has not been made clear.

I support the Palestinian cause and their right of self determination and sent an email over a week ago to the State Department to voice my opinion. I was unable to locate an email address for Hanan Ashrawi to express my support of the Palestinian people but found your site on the web so I am sending this message to you.
